* The Western Australian Government granted
approval for the construction of the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre
and work commenced in 2001.
* The Perth Convention Exhibition Centre is Western
Australia's largest and only purpose-built convention, exhibition and
meeting centre, catering for functions of up to 5,000 delegates.
* The Perth Convention Exhibition Centre is in the
heart of Perth's Central Business District, nestled between the Swan
River and the city.
* The Perth Convention Exhibition Centre has three
levels, built atop a 1500-bay public carpark, with 1200 carparks
undercover. There are additional carparks across the road.
* The Riverside Theatre has been designed for
plenary sessions of major conventions, however it is able to be split
into smaller areas to meet requirements of meetings of all sizes.
* There are 19 specialist meeting rooms, catering for between 60 and 450 delegates seated theatre-style.
* Pre-function and foyer areas are featured on all three levels.
* There are 16,654 square metres of exhibition space
in six pavilions of approximately 2,777 square metres each.
* Public transport is available alongside the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.
* A 138-apartment hotel built over six levels was
opened in conjunction with the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. The
hotel is operated by the Medina Group.
* The Perth Convention Exhibition Centre houses some
of the most advanced communications facilities in Australia.
* The Perth Convention Exhibition Centre is a WiFi
Zone wireless internet location making it the only Centre in Australia
to offer a permanently installed wireless service.
