A special nature of this show is highlighted by the co-organizers, namely: Ministry of Agriculture SR, Slovak Association of Producers, Cooking Equipment and Food Processing Equipment Importers, Business Association of Bakers, Confectioners, and Pasta Makers of SR, Slovak Association of Cooks and Confectioners, Slovak Association for Cooling and Air Conditioning Technology, Association of Trade of SR, Slovak Association of Barmen. Special events form an essential part of the fair and last time there were 24 of them, -special workshops, conferences, competitions: for instance GASTRO NITRA – a competition for hotel academy students and special vocational schools in cookery. Confectionary competition by Nestle Golden Cup for cooks; GOLD COBA – best bakery product competition; GASTRO JUNIOR CUP – cocktails competition for students of hotel academies and special vocational schools; GRAND PRIX GASTRA – the best exhibit competition in food technology; GOLD ALIMENTA – the best foodstuff product competition and many others.
