Honorary Patronage: Tomasz Merta – General Conservation Officer at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
The International Conservation, Restoration of National Heritage and Regeneration of Cities – NATIONAL HERITAGE 2008 constitute a professional forum for presenting the offer of producers and distributors of building materials used to renovate, restore and adapt historic monuments for usable purposes, as well as related useful services and technologies.
The event is an excellent occasion to establish contacts with persons making decisions on the selection of products and services used in construction, restoration and conservation works relating to historic buildings, including:
· private investors and local governments,
· owners and administrators of historic buildings which are to be transformed into hotels, restaurants and other public utility structures,
· representatives of church administration,
· representatives of designing companies and contractors,
· domestic and international specialists: conservators, restorers, artists, etc.
Guests visiting the Fairs will learn where and how funds may be acquired, for example, to carry out works necessary to adapt historic buildings to usable purposes, and amounts allocated to historic monuments are not small.
“National Heritage” cover not only interesting presentations of exhibitors, but they are also a platform for the mutual exchange of opinions and fruitful discussions. This is simplified by the 2nd Polish Conservation Days, taking place simultaneously with the Fairs, and being the biggest meeting in of environments in charge of protecting national heritage. This an event held under the honorary patronage of the President of the capital city of Warsaw and Bishop Jan Śrutwa, Chairman of the Board for Culture and Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Conference of the Polish Episcopate. The programme of the Polish Conservation Days covers:
· Seminar for employees of local administration “European Funds for the Protection of National Heritage” to discuss Poland’s experience concerning the use of European funds in 2004-2006 and perspectives for acquiring European funds to protect national heritage in 2007-2013. The seminar is organised by the International Fairs Poland under the Honorary Patronage of Krzyszt of Olendzki, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
· Conference “Polish Conservation Works Outside the Republic of Poland” organised by the Association of Conservators. Its programme covers, inter alia, Polish conservation works in , conservation works in the Balkans, in the Eastern areas of former , in the Far East, as well as ’s participation in international monument protection organisations.
· Training seminar on counteracting crimes against historic monuments, organised by the Centre for Protection of Public Collections and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration. Participants will learn, for example, which preventive actions are planned for the following years, and how information to the national list of monuments stolen or exported abroad illegally shall be acquired.
· Exhibition of photos of unique research and conservation value “From the Land and Air – Babylon and Other Positions in Central Iraq, Threats, Opportunities, Challenges”. The exhibition is organised by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage together with the Archaeological Museum in Poznań.
Parallelly to the Fairs “National Heritage”, the event dedicated to modern heating, drying and ventilating systems in sacred structures will be held. It will present state-of-art and economic solutions.
