COAL-GEN Europe is the first large scale pan-European conference and
exhibition dedicated to coal-fuelled power generation. Locating in
Poland - major global coal producer, domestic generator and European
exporter - COAL-GEN Europe connects international equipment and service
providers with European coal industry professionals seeking modern coal
combustion technologies.
Coal’s resurgence as a long term and secure fuel source means it will
play an important role in providing Europe with reliable and affordable
power over the next quarter of a century. With security of supply a
prime concern of European energy policy makers and key power industry
players, renewed exploitation of Europe’s abundant and democratically
distributed coal resource is firmly on the region’s agenda, with coal
consumption set to increase by five per cent per year to 2030. Coal
will also have a role in helping Europe meet its environmental
challenges, with advanced clean coal technologies and developments in
carbon capture and storage steering the fuel towards a zero emissions
future.
COAL-GEN Europe 2008 will be the first large scale pan-European
conference and exhibition dedicated to coal-fuelled power generation.
The event will locate in Poland - the world’s eighth largest coal
producer and major domestic generator and European exporter. This new
event extends PennWell Corporation’s successful COAL-GEN conference and
exhibition franchise. The COAL-GEN conference and exhibition in the US
is the most dynamic coal-fired power industry event in North America,
annually attracting at least 300 exhibitors and more than 3,000
attendees.
COAL-GEN Europe 2008 in Warsaw, Poland, will reflect Europe’s dramatic
coal-fired power generation revolution. The conference will introduce
attendees to the very latest issues affecting the design, development,
upgrading, operation and maintenance and lifetime optimization of
coal-fuelled power plants, while the 2,500 sq metre exhibition will be
a platform for the world’s major equipment and service providers to
connect with Europe’s rich seam of coal industry professionals seeking
modern coal combustion technologies.
