This spectacular gardening event showcases the expertise and
experience featured in ABC TV’s popular Gardening Australia program
with other landscape and nursery industry experts to create a fresh,
dynamic and contemporary event for gardeners. Garden lovers will find
the expo to be an inspirational experience filled with practical
gardening advice.
There will be non-stop demonstrations, presentations and advice on how
to care for your garden, as well as forums to educate the community on
how best to care for their outdoor ‘room’ while doing their bit for
sustainable living.
ABC Gardening Theatre:
Featuring informative presentations (six daily) from ABC TV's Gardening
Australia presenters on healthy soil, pests & disease, plant
propagation, water wise and other great gardening techniques.
- Speakers Expo Stage:Featuring personalities, exhibitors and other
topical speakers, including industry experts, authors, chefs, and
garden specialists (six daily). Subjects covered will range from
product information to topical news and events on gardening and
sustainable living.
- Ask It, Solve It Stage:An informative panel format (5 daily)
featuring an ABC TV Gardening Australia presenter and two
industry experts talking about specific plant care. They will also be
answering all gardening questions. Prizes from Yates will be awarded on
this stage for the best questions.
- Pete’s Vegie Patch:Made famous through ABC TV's Gardening
Australia program, Pete’s Patch will be on display at the Expo where
Peter Cundall will amaze visitors (twice daily Fri & Sat, once Sun)
with stories and information on how to grow great veggies.
- ABC Radio 612 Live:Brisbane ABC radio 612 will be broadcasting at
the expo each day with a variety of listener events, interviews, chats
and information on gardening.
- ABC Shop:Features all the ABC merchandise, books and gardening
products as well as having in store meet and greet visits (five daily)
by the presenters from ABC TV's Gardening Australia program.
- Garden Kitchen:An area filled with a selection of gourmet food providores of specialty foods that take the garden to the table.
- Exhibitors: An abundance of plants, flowers and outdoor gardening
products will be available to purchase. Products and services not
normally available through retail outlets will be shown exclusively at
the expo.
- Demonstrations:Non-stop practical explanations of products, uses and techniques for garden care and maintaining the environment.
- Kids Activities:Fifi - from the latest ABC pre-school sensation Fifi and the Flowertots, will make three appearances daily.
- Plant and Botanical Societies & Garden Clubs: Features information booths on special plants and garden care.
- Plant Pavilion: A specialised plant and nursery area, for plant purchases.
- Plant & Product pick-up: A convenient area where bulky items
and plant purchases can be left in safety to be picked up when leaving
the expo.
- Garden BBQ Area: An outdoor BBQ area for families and visitors to enjoy lunch and other BBQ snacks.
