Otdykh-Leisure Moscow traditionally marks the beginning of the winter season. The show features the entire product range of tourism from city and sightseeing trips, wintertime itineraries and long distance destinations, to adventure and safari tours, wellness, rehabilitation and educational holidays. MICE Russia (business travel) as well as Luxury & Spa (exclusive leisure travel) were well attended sections of the show. The 1st InterHome, International Trade Fair for Real Estate Abroad, took place simultaneously.
Otdykh Leisure has been running in Moscow, Russia since 1995 with the numbers of participants surging fivefold over the years. This year the event was attended by more than 800 companies from 60 countries on a surface of 9,000 square meters.
Foreign exhibitors included companies from Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Chile, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Jamaica, Maldives, Mexico, Peru, South Africa, Spain, Vietnam with exhibitors like Focus Asia, OTI Group, Putnik Serbia, Montenegro Stars, Soleans, Larus Viaggi, Tropicana Hotels & Resorts, Best Day Mexico to name but a few.
Russia was represented by 500 companies and travel agencies, including Koral Travel, Mostravel, Pegasus, Sunrise Tours, DSBV, Asent Travel, Inna-Tours, Lanta-Tours, Astrawel, Detour, Vremya Tours, Caribbean Club, Yuzhny Krest, Trek Travel, Jazz-Tours, DoubleBay and numerous other firms.
A number of specialised conferences and workshops were held as part of the exhibition. A special highlight was the conference organised by IS Banko on overall challenges faced by the tourism industry. Informbank Agency organised a conference focused on pressing business tourism issues.
The VIP club has proven to be an ideal establishment for business negotiations. Once again it was set up for executives of major tourist companies, representatives of tourist agencies and the press to interact.
22,000 trade visitors represented decision-makers of the international travel industry who met highly professional Russian buyers at Otdykh-Leisure to establish new business contacts, sign contracts with Russian travel agents and consult a very interested general public. They were introduced to a novelty in Russia. With a new registration system visitors received name badges which were valid for free entrance during the entire period of the event. Otdykh-Leisure is organised by MSI Fairs & Exhibitions and ITE Group plc. The show is held annually and fully supported by the State Duma Committee for Cultural Affairs and the Moscow City Government’s Committee for Tourism.
