Kielce Trade Fairs is launching the International Fair of Glass and
Ceramics Production and Processing PROGLASS, which is the only fair
event of this kind organized in Poland. The new fair, which will be
held on 26-28 March 2008, features glass and ceramics products; glass
processing tools and machines, equipment for the glass and ceramics
industries, chemicals used in the glass sector. The range of exhibited
products will also include porcelain, bone china ceramics, faience,
PROGLASS and stoneware. Products put on display fulfill a comprehensive
range of functions; beginning with consumables, finishing with
high-tech technologies.
The glass industry is recording continuous growth. More than half of
the world's glass production is used in Europe and China. Global demand
for glass is increasing at a pace exceeding the growth rate of the
economy as a whole. This growth is a result of increased restrictions
within laws related to energy-saving glass. It also results from the
introduction of the obligation to use glass products featuring
insulation properties to many European countries. Polish PROGLASS
glassworks produce glass wool, which is an insulating material; being
used in the construction industry, it significantly contributes to
energy saving. What constitutes the largest sector of the glass
industry in Poland is glass packaging, mostly bottles and jars made of
colourless and stained glass. Flat glass production is also recording
increased growth.
It is worth emphasizing that Polish glassworks supplying flat glass and
related products are among Europe's leaders in terms of the application
of modern technologies. Today architects and designers are using larger
glass surfaces in their designs, which often entails enhanced
functionality and complexity. Artistic glass and domestic glassware
produced by Polish glassworks, renowned for its excellent quality, will
be exhibited during the PROGLASS fair. Many works of art and
decorations made of glass are sold abroad, being very popular.
