The first event, in 2001 at the Mediterranean Exhibition Centre, was abold initiative, which was accomplished with success. "METEC 2003" and"METEC 2005" were characterized as the most impressive and successfulspecialized exhibitions in Greece. The "meeting of the giants",as it became known, was established as an institution not only forGreece but also for the wider southeastern European region. "Τechnoekdotiki S.A" ambition is "METEC 2007" to surpass previous events in participation, visitors, splendour and zeal.
"ΜΕΤΕC 2007" will be held at the Mediterranean Exhibition Center (MEC),in Peania, Athens, which is made up of 4 halls and large outdoor areas,with a total expanse of 20.000 square meters. It is located on LavriouAvenue with easy access from the city, the national roads and theairport using the Attiki Highway (exit 17).
It offers spacious parking, air-conditioning and ventilation, arestaurant and a bar, thus providing exhibitors and visitors withexceptional comfort.
"METEC" is the meeting point for agents, importers and manufacturers of construction machinery (for earthmoving, roadwork, mining, lifting, loading/unloading, transport), equipment and accessories, as well as work-site equipment, software, automation systems, safety and control systems, tools etc., where they will exhibit their innovations.
In 2005, "METEC"welcomed 23.000 Greek and foreign visitors, a number that is sure torise dramatically in 2007. Most of the visitors were executive fromconstruction companies, contractors, engineers, work-site foremen,surveyors, architects, quarry owners, transport companies etc. Furthermore, employees from the public technical services sector, localmunicipalities, construction machinery owners and operators, tradersetc. were present.
