Product managers miss a universal exhibition dedicated to materials
science and engineering. How could this exhibition look like?
Obviously, it will have to present new products for which new materials
play a strategic role, e.g. products that would not have come up
without progress in materials. On the other hand, this exhibition will
demonstrate new materials and processes that are not yet dedicated to a
specific application. Thus, representatives of any branch may be
attracted. Following interdisciplinary approaches, this exhibition will
generate new ideas and scenarios. Designed especially for developers,
it will initiate cooperation between research and product engineering
and demonstrate technology transfer in a completely new way: Research
institutes and universities, but also industrial suppliers present
their ideas, samples and prototypes in order to inspire product
engineers.
МSE - A New Exhibition is being built
Such an exhibition, the "Materials Science and Engineering" briefly
"MSE" is currently being built. It will represent the counterpart to
the huge technology oriented fairs where materials engineering only
figures as a cross sectional discipline split among numerous product
areas. Nor will MSE focus on a particular materials or process related
topic as many dedicated exhibitions do.
MSE will demonstrate the competition of the materials classes and
processes. In addition, MSE will attach great importance to measuring
devices and characterisation tools as used in research labs.
...in conjunction with the congress EUROMAT
MSE will be held in conjunction with the congress EUROMAT that in
recent years has developed into a leading event
(www.euromat2007.fems.org) in the field of materials science and
engineering. After Munich 1999, Lausanne 2003 and Prague 2005, it will
take place in Nuremberg for the first time.
MSE will be continued in Nuremberg. From 2008, MSE will be accompanied
by its own congress MSE focusing primarily on the dialogue between
research and engineering
